Halloo everyone!

Hoping this update finds you all well.

Let the shipping commence!

Just wanted to let everyone know that shipping is underway and the plan is to have the last parcel sent out by the end of August. Because of the high number of parts on some of the miniatures, quality control/picking them may take slightly longer, hence the aim of having everything out by the end of August. 27,250 miniatures = 105,050 individual components (132,300 including the bases)!

Zealot Miniatures are doing all the quality control, picking and packing, since they know the models inside out and know what they are looking for. I will be popping down to see them again soon to check how everything is going. And talking of trips to their foundry, here are some photos from my recent visit... 

Everything is looking great – we could not be happier with the job Zealot are doing. The quality is phenomenal – they really do take a lot of pride in what they do. John is a big fan of their casting and I don’t think praise comes much higher than that.

Once again I would like to thank you all for your tremendous patience and support throughout. It has not been the smoothest ride (something of an understatement!) but, with your messages of support and understanding you have really helped us through. The end of the tunnel is looking a lot brighter… sorry it has taken an age to get to this point but not long now.

A shipping update

Halloo everyone!

I hope you are all well. Just a quick update on shipping.

Shipping will begin imminently, so within the next two weeks. Unfortunately our caster suffered a cyber-attack recently that really messed them up, but they are back on track now and most miniatures have been cast. 

I am going to drive down to see them this coming Monday (7th July) and take an initial batch of minis to the fulfilment centre so that we can get started on shipping these out. That’s one advantage of having manufacturing and fulfilment in the UK – at least I have control over getting the miniatures safely to the fulfilment centre!

Sorry for yet another spanner in the works – a Kickstarter campaign can certainly be full of unwelcome surprises, but we are extremely close now.

Here's a very small sample of miniatures that our caster sent us. In total we have over 27,000 miniatures to send out! 

I will also take plenty of photographs whilst I am at the foundry so you can see even more. I will share these in another update next week.

So please bear with us just a little longer. Your patience throughout this journey has been incredible, thank you. We are on the final straight now and within sight of the finishing line!

Locking addresses

Halloo everyone!

Just a quick update regarding addresses being locked in BackerKit (this is the final step before shipping).

Addresses now being locked with 48 hours’ notice

You should all receive an email from BackerKit in the coming hours notifying you that addresses are being locked in 48 hours’ time. Please note that you will still be able to update your shipping address on BackerKit right up to the point when addresses are locked on Thursday 12th of June. If after this point you need to change your address, please send us a message and we can manually change it for you right up to just before the fulfilment centre ships your order out.

'Facebook' merchant confusion on bank statements

Halloo everyone!

So sorry for the confusion caused by 'Facebook' showing as the merchant ID on your bank statements. For some reason Stripe listed the statement descriptor as 'Facebook' instead of 'Thistle' - I have now changed this with them. I think it may be because we do not have a website link and had to put the Facebook page in on our Stripe profile.

Every so sorry for the confusion and any inconvenience caused by this. Please rest assured that this is a legitimate payment request and the money is coming to our Stripe account - it is not a scam, so please do not worry.

So many things that need doing behind the scenes when setting things up with BackerKit, Stripe and the fulfilment company - we set our Stripe account up around a year ago and clearly forgot to double check the statement descriptor.

Any questions or issues, do let us know. Again, very sorry if this has caused any problems!

BackerKit now charging cards for shipping and add-ons

Halloo dear backers!

I hope that everyone reading this is well. Just wanting to let everyone know that BackerKit are now charging your cards for shipping and any applicable add-ons.

We have tried to keep the shipping costs down as much as possible (they sadly keep going up every 6-12 months). Here are the confirmed shipping rates (all rates are for tracked delivery):

• UK = GBP6.99
• EU = GBP12.99
• US = GBP14.99
• Australia, Canada, New Zealand & Rest of the World = GBP15.99

Once cards are charged, backers will move into the Lock Addresses stage on 10th June (with 48 hours notice – you will receive an email notifying you, giving you two days to update your address should you need to).

Please note that you will still be able to update your shipping address on BackerKit right up to the point when we lock addresses (12th June). If after this point you need to change your address, please send us a message and we can manually change it for you right up to just before the fulfilment centre ships your order out.
